Seville Airport Car Hire

Seville Airport lies in the south of Spain, in Andalucía. It is the region’s second largest airport after Malaga and serves mainly the city of Seville and the Seville region. Approximately 4,051,392 passengers used the airport in 2009 and additional European routes being marketed now mean that even more passengers will wish to travel to and from Seville Airport in the future. Last year saw passenger numbers increase to 4,224,718.

Seville Airport arrivals and departures take place from the airport’s main terminal building. Construction first began in 1915, but the airport today is very different from the airport that finally offered the first commercial flights in 1919. A new control tower, a beautiful and functional new terminal building and an extended apron are all signs that Seville Airport is ready to cope with its present and future popularity.

Major international airlines operating in and out of Seville Airport are budget carriers like Iberia, Ryanair, Air Berlin, SAS, Spanair and Vueling Airlines as well as others. Passengers can choose from many destinations in Europe and within Spain itself.

Onward travel from Seville Airport is easy, since the airport is well connected by road via the A4 motorway, which connects the city of Seville with Madrid and the airport itself with the rest of Andalucía. There are bus services running every 30 minutes to the centre of Seville, Santa Justa railway station and Puerta de Jerez and the journey takes between 30 to 40 minutes. Taxis wait just outside the terminal building for the 15 minute journey into central Seville.

Seville Airport is also home to several major car hire companies. Passengers arriving at the Spanish airport can choose a vehicle from the counters of car hire Seville Airport Avis, Auriga Crown, Europcar, Hertz or National. The counters of car rental Seville Airport companies can be found in the main terminal building on the ground floor.

Bookings should preferably be made in advance to avoid disappointment on the day of arrival, though. The contact details for car rental Seville Airport are as follows:

Car hire is certainly recommended in an area as rich in culture and history as Andalucía – never mind the stunning beaches at the Costas or the gorgeous views from the mountains! There are river deltas and valleys to explore, there are ancient, winding lanes criss-crossing Seville that are just waiting to be discovered.

Seville lies along the ancient roads that were once trodden by Roman legionnaires and Arab invaders, who’d probably say that they were really the first tourists arriving in beautiful Andalucía. Car rental Seville Airport allows you to follow their ancient trails. The Betica-Roman Route begins at historic Italica, which is a major excavation site near Seville city.

Car hire Seville Airport also allows you to hire a bike for the day and head out into the foothills of the Sierra Morena for some mountain biking or to the valley of the Guadalquivir River, where you’ll find many gorgeous historic towns and cities along the shores. Just remember to ask for a bike or luggage rack at the time of booking your hire car!
